The 2nd Congressional District will be meeting via Zoom. The main agenda item will be replacement of the 3rd Vice Chair which has been vacated. Interested replacements will be considered by the board and the WCDP representative to the 2nd Congressional District.

A meeting of the CD2 Executive Committee is scheduled for December 2nd at 6pm via Zoom. This meeting will address two pieces of outstanding business we were unable to complete during our Convention due to the restrictions placed on the meeting by NCDP leadership as well as an election of a 1st Vice Chair due to Montica Talmadge moving into CD4.

First Vice Chair. The duties of the congressional district first vice chair shall include:
1. Preside at district executive committee meetings and district conventions in the absence of the chair;
2. Plan and organize district executive committee meetings and district conventions;
3. Serve as the coordinator of all district-wide party organizing efforts, in consultation with other officers and consistent with the strategic plan approved by the district executive committee;
4. Carry out other duties as may be assigned by the district executive committee;
5. Transmit all records pertaining to the office to successor within ten (10) days of vacating office.

This is a trying time and we understand that these decisions may be frustrating to some. We remain committed to making this process as smooth as possible and protecting the health and well-being of all North Carolinians.
An agenda for the Wake County convention is being developed and will be posted on their web site when completed.
There is one piece of business that was to take place during the WCDP Convention that affects CD2. Per the Plan of Organization no new CD-02 Wake Representatives will be elected at the WCDP Convention.
North Hills District Democrats' Precinct 07-09 is hosting a free virtual meet'n greet on April 8 at 7 PM with Senator Wiley Nickel, who represents District 16, and Wake County Commissioner Jessica Holmes, the Democratic nominee for Commissioner of Labor. Senator Nickel is running for re-election while Commissioner Holmes has served two terms on the Wake County Board of Commissioners and is now running for a Council of State position to be our next North Carolina Commissioner of Labor. Both have been working closely with COVID19 response strategies. They will each be able to give us county and state specific updates on how their work is involved with the crisis, but also how they see this impacting our election and what kind of support we can give them to be victorious for the party.
